The Gate , Sunday May 3

This Sunday we draw inspiration from Jesus and his image of the gate, the sheep, and the gatekeeping shepherd. We have several services for you to drink in, as well as song choices and images to contemplate.

Click on the red text below to see complete services for you to read in a spirit of worship.  It includes prayers, readings, images and a reflection.  This week’s service is prepared for the Worship Collective by Rev Anne Honey.

In the Northern edge of the Mallee there are a number of multicultural congregations which celebrate White Sunday.   It is a very special day where the children and youth of the congregations dress in their best white gear and lead the worship for the day.

Despite these days, here are ways enjoy your own White Sunday /Children’s Sunday at home.

Gates and Gateways

Anne makes this comment in this week’s Reflection.  “I have found myself reflecting on the gates I have entered through, and gates I have exited from. Gates that have led me from one place to another, from one person to another, from one experience to another.”

It’s a brilliant question. What ‘gates’ have you faced or opened? What has felt closed to you? Who or what has been on the other side?

Reflecting on Psalm 23.

In rich and rough ways; touch and terror meet. Generations have found they way towards and within Psalm 23.
The guide questions offer caring company. Whatever your responses, we aren’t alone in our seeking and our blessing .
That said, some of these questions twist and wrangle; this is still hard.
Our wanting is known, our welcome ultimately assured.
