In today’s parable, “the sheep” demonstrated an unflinching commitment to the way of life enjoined by the Law. They lived, breathed, and offered ‘righteous-justice’ in what they did.
They exhibited ‘righteous-justice’, which Squires argues is the heart of the covenant, in contrast to lives which are lived without reference to the Law.
Whether we are one, two or five talent disciples each of us has been given something of enormous value.
So today, let us dig up all we may have buried and then take every opportunity we have to spread our talents around.
There is a big hint in today’s story, that if we’re watching we will encounter Jesus. And if we are ready to move with whatever resources we have, then we will be journeying with him and will be involved in God’s kingdom, where love and peace prevail
I wonder if Jesus is teaching us about a choice – a choice in how we deal with others… whether we are leading or being led? Are we being reminded we walk a fine line all the time between the love of the law or the law of love?

So… God’s got this banquet/party lined up for us to attend. The wedding feast for the children of God – guests of honour.
We imagine – don’t have Covid standing in the way of that. What if… we decided to attend?
We can see the work ahead in ‘this vineyard’. Life is coming as we are discovering the God who gives us this life. Life comes in loving the people God has given us to.
What if we took all those efforts we spend in questioning God and one another, and instead sought to answer the need of the lost in the same gracious way that God provides for our need?
God’s generous grace does not make “sense”. God’s desire to dispense grace freely and lavishly flies in the face of, and challenges, our ideas of fairness.
