God’s word and wisdom, in the flesh.
Welcome to worship this week.
John’s once-upon-a-time story opens before time; the Word is right there with God before time, and by implication Word and Wisdom in this instance are synonymous. The Word/Wisdom were with God, before time and cosmic history began.
- What are our own once-upon-a-time stories that reveal God to us?
- Who are the story-tellers who speak the Truth, and reflect God’s love and hope?
- Who are the central characters in our own stories that inspire us and prod us into action?
- Who are the people that are the God-bearers for us; with us always, in tough times and in celebration?
