Season after Pentecost

June 14 service. Sent; so go.

As the followers of Jesus we are called to see that the gap between the real and the ideal, between here and the horizon, can in fact be bridged. And Jesus seems to think we can get the job done, even if it will not be easy.

Welcome to worship this week as we step up to being Sent.

Here is a full order of service for reflecting at home or sharing in church this week.  Our thanks to Rev. Anne Honey for leading the preparation for this week’s service.

May hear this reminder from this week’s service:

The compassion of Jesus continues to send his disciples out to meet the needs of others.
Just as Jesus sent his first disciples out to engage with people in their own situations, so he sends us.
Just as he charged them to be compassionate, to give caring and practical help to people who lived in generally harsh conditions, so he sends us.
Just as Jesus wanted them to meet the human needs they encountered, so he desires the same of us.
