No holding back! Service for August 2, 2020

One person didn’t hold back – they offered their ‘inadequate’ loaves and fishes. Thousands of people later, there’s still plenty left over. How does God enable sustaining generosity? We consider this and more together now.

Opening Thoughts

This week we encounter people of faith wrestling with seemingly impossible challenges. We see this in Jacob, and in the disciples.

We appreciate Rev. Ann Scull preparing this week’s service, which the Worship Collective have adapted only slightly.  It has  prayers readings and reflections. There are also many great activities you can choose to enjoy.

Ann reminds us that

“We can all make a big difference in the world with seemingly insignificant acts of kindness. When we do, we can set off a chain reaction which will reap huge dividends for the kingdom of God. Try it and see what happens!”

We thank our own Wendy Ratawa for her painting of Loaves and Fishes.
